Philanthropy in Action: The MiraCosta College FA's Commitment to Supporting Students

As faculty members, we are dedicated not only to teaching and mentoring our students but also to supporting them in meaningful ways beyond the classroom. One of the most impactful ways the FA has demonstrated this commitment is through our ongoing philanthropic efforts. By allocating a portion of our budget to charitable giving, we ensure that programs and initiatives benefiting our students receive the financial support they need to thrive. Through our partnership with the MiraCosta College Foundation, we have contributed to initiatives that directly impact student success and well-being. Over the years, MCCFA has steadily increased our contributions to causes aligned with our values, particularly in areas such as student scholarships, basic needs support, and cultural celebrations.

Recent Contributions

Last fall we contributed $2,500 to Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, helping to provide vital resources for students facing food and housing insecurity. In previous years, we have supported Latinx/Chicanx Graduation Celebration, ensuring that students and their families could celebrate this milestone with cultural performances and meaningful recognition. We have also provided funds for the end of year Student Life and Leadership Banquet, honoring the hard work and achievements of student leaders. Additionally, we contributed to the Mana Program Celebration, which recognizes Pasifika students and promotes academic excellence within the NHPI community. Each of these donations reflects our commitment to promoting student success and creating an inclusive, supportive campus environment.

Faculty members are encouraged to propose programs, initiatives, or student support efforts that could benefit from FA donations.
